Does your skin struggle this time of year? Mine certainly does.

The change of season and temperature drop is my skin’s least favourite time of year

I tend to be even more skinimalistic and lean on my trusted heroes now.

Four basic products to streamline your winter skincare routine could include a cleanser, serum, moisturiser, eye cream and perhaps a fifth, a retinoid at night.

I will share some of my skincare tips and product recommendations with ingredients that might help your winter skin below

    • Look for products that has ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides and Squalene, that keep moisture locked in a little longer

Here is a  budget version from Cera Ve that contains both Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid. An extra plus for the fragrance free formula.

High potency Hyaluronic Acid serum from Kiehls

I am curious about this product from mesoestetic. You will find squalene and hyaluronic acid in this restorative formula.

    • Incorporate a Barrier Cream that protects your face from the harsh winds and cooler temperatures and that help to build up your own skin barrier if weakened.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             My go to cream is La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm, but you can also try Dermalogica ultra calming barrier repair cream

        • Stay away from too hot showers. The warm water tend to make your skin even more dry. Try using a shower oil

This oil contains shea oil that is extra protective for dry skin

      • If your skin is in good condition, but you want to amp up its dull complexion? Aim for a retinol product, which can help with your skin’s cell turnover. Dermatologists usually recommend using it at night and say the winter months are perfect for this,  due to less direct sun and UV radiation .

I would  love to try these products

    Overnight retinol treatment from Skinceuticals

    Paulas Choice Clinical 0,3 % Retinol + 2 % Bakuchiol treatment

    Stay warm and take care!
